DURBIN'S FARMGATE SHORTIE ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DOB: July 21 2011

Shortie was our first beagle and we got him when he was about 6 months old from Jessie Scrogham (Scrogham's Blue Kennel) in Waddy, KY. He was slightly started on rabbits and had been tested for gun shyness. From what we heard he was the runt of his litter but has since grown to measure a healthy 14.25" and maintains around 22 lbs. Shortie is a very fast dog on the track with a loud, piercing squall mouth that is unique in most packs. He has plenty of drive and has the ability to wind rabbits from a distance before having to bust the brush. Shortie is extremely affectionate with people he knows and mildly reserved with strangers but never aggressive or downright frightful. Very quite in the kennel and in the house; he only barks when he needs to. He would be considered slightly tight mouthed in the field - only giving mouth once the track is fairly hot. We have been working with him in ARHA trial format toward Rabbit Champion. He qualified for the ARHA Little Pack World Hunt in his first trial! He also has good confirmation and points towards being a Bench Champion.

DURBIN'S BLUE CHIPPER ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DOB: June 17 2016

Durbin's Blue Chipper is a new addition to our kennel. He is still a pup right now just over 6 months old but is showing a lot of promise! He went to a good starting pen when he was around 5 month old and was jumping and running rabbits on his own. He seems to have a unique mouth; a deep, gravelly squall chop combination that is easy to pick out of a pack. We have been taking him out with the other dogs and he has been impressing us. He keeps up with our grown hounds well and contributes his fair share to the races. He has also got a few good checks on our old hounds! Chipper also shows good confirmation (not as good as Shortie) and is a good sturdy hound. We think Chip is currently 14.25" and shouldn't exceed 15" when fully grown. We are really looking forward to what the new year brings us and seeing Chip mature.
